Greyton is at the end of the road, much like it's hotter and drier sister town just over the mountain, McGregor. Greyton is where many Cape Townians come for weekend getaways, and some come from far to retire here. This is quiet country living, and the little town has managed to retain all it's charms and open spaces, resisting bad developments.
Some will find it dead boring, others will love seeing horses amble down the road, or enjoy a picnic by the bubbling river. There're some cute restaurants here, and the neighbouring town of Genadendal, with it's historic Moravian mission station, is fascinating to visit.
