Sea Point is the jewel in the crown of the glittering Atlantic seaboard. It has a beach promenade that is the most popular non-commercial culturally-diverse public space in Cape Town. Long sunny days and shelter from the wind makes this a top spot. There is a good main street with many restaurants and shops, and further up the slopes towards Clifton is the millionaire's mile of Fresnaye and Bantry Bay.
Unfortunately someone in the City Council has told developers they can tear up the unique promenade to build a shopping centre right by the pool. You can oppose this crazy plan by going here: SEAFA.
