Blouberg derives it's name from a hill not far inland, which presumably looked blue, but a more accurate name would be 'blow-berg' because here sometimes the wind can really blow. If you're into kitesurfing, as many are, then this is heaven!
Blouberg is mostly a residential area, with a long beach strip, and some good restaurants and pubs too. Great for sunset beach-walks and amazing views of Table Mountain.
